The City of Aspen Citizens Academy course is in session. Keep an eye out for a possible second offering of the Academy in 2017.
Have you ever wondered … How does a local government really work? How does a building plan go through the approval process? How are streets prioritized for plowing after it snows? Where do your tax dollars go?
The City of Aspen has developed a Citizens Academy course where the Aspen community can discover answers to these and other common questions. Our goal is to provide an in-depth understanding of government functions and inform participants of opportunities to be involved.
Want to enroll?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live in the Roaring Fork
Valley. Aspen residents will be given preference over those living
outside of the City limits and we are looking for a variety of perspectives to participate in the program. Classes will be held from 5:30-8:30pm on
Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the Pitkin County Library. A light
dinner will be provided prior to each class. The cost of the course is $59.
