New Year’s Eve Fireworks Cancelled

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Cancelled

Aspen, Colorado – December 21, 2020 – The City of Aspen will not be featuring fireworks this New Year’s Eve due to an abundance of caution for the spread of COVID-19. Fireworks draw groups of individuals to gather to watch the display and Pitkin County is under new health orders that mandate only members of the same household may gather. This would be hard to control with an outdoor fireworks display. Currently Aspen is in the Orange+ Zone and all our shared efforts as a community can help keep us out of the Red Zone on the State's COVID dial, which would more significantly impact our economic activity.

The City of Aspen thanks our community members for all doing their part to maintain or improve Aspen’s standing on the COVID-19 dial.
