Stormwater Cleaning Work

The City of Aspen is conducting necessary work to clean the underground storm drains throughout Aspen during the month of October.  The work is an essential part of maintaining the City’s stormwater infrastructure to reduce the risk of flooding, prevent damage to pipes, and investigate future maintenance needs.  This work is conducted every four to five years.

During the work, expect a large truck parked near the stormwater inlet using high pressure water to clean the pipes and flush the system. The work is loud and may last up to 4 hours. In some cases, the roadway may be obstructed.

Thank you for your patience during this process.  We know it is important to our community to foster clean rivers and this work helps the Roaring Fork River’s overall health.
